MORGEN is a Rotterdam based artists’ run initiative that ran from 2001 until 2004. It was dedicated to presenting upcoming artists and designers, with a focus on cross-disciplinary practices. The first two years MORGEN was lodged in the basement of the Urban Espresso Bar where monthly exhibitions were held, complemented with a programme of discussions, performances and workshops.
In 2003 MORGEN founded, in cooperation with artists’ run initiative Salle de Bains, Salle Demain, a meeting and office space for organizations in the cultural field, where it held office until 2004. In this period the programme led a nomadic existence, ‘parasiting’ on art institutions in Finland, the USA and Portugal.
